We’d like to thank the staff on duty on Saturday 8th September, especially the vet, Caroline when we had our beautiful border collie girl, Dolly put to sleep. Their professionalism and understanding of our intense sadness certainly helped us through this terrible situation. We were also extremely touched when today, we received a hand written card from the vet and staff at our local surgery, Victoria Vets. Thank you to Karen and all the staff for their lovely words.
Rest easy our beautiful girl, Dolly xx

5We sadly had to make the difficult decision to have our cat put to sleep. The staff at this practice were so compassionate and we felt supported emotionally as it’s something we have never had to do before with our pets. We received a card a few days later which was a lovely gesture.

5We had amazing service from this practice. Our cat Myla was admitted early morning after a suspected seizure. Mike was so compassionate and show great sincerity and sensitivity when talking to me on admitting Myla and then on the phone for an update. Highly recommended

5Our new puppy is the third of our dogs that has gone to Longwell Green Vets and have been cared for by the Longwell Green “family”. Both of our present Labradors Kira now 10 yrs old and Tegen who is only 10 months old, have benefited by going to their puppy parties and being socialised with other puppies and other humans right at the start of their lives and by having the puppy classes inside Longwell Green vets has made both of them happy to go to the vets for whatever reason. The care they receive at Longwell Green is second to none, and everyone who works there are wonderful it really is a family and we trust them implicitly with the care of both our girls. We cannot praise Longwell Green Vets highly enough and we do recommend them to everyone.

5Would recommend this surgery. Was made very welcome with all my animals and the exotic vets are extremely helpful and understanding. Everyone was so nice when we recently lost our rabbit and guinea pig and took our loss seriously. The condolence card received too was a lovely guesture. Thanks to Sonya and Claire.

5On behalf of Cat’s Protection Charity Shop in Midsomer Norton, we would like to thank Silva House vets for their ‘random act of kindness’ last Saturday 17/2/18, when we were given a hundred pounds as a donation to our charity. This was an amazing donation, thank you so much Silva Vets ! x

5Had good service during my rabbits life (apart from couple of delays to waiting times), but always apologetic when seen. Sonya was excellent with him and treated him with dignity at the end with great sympathy with us.
Always pleasant staff and whoever we have seen they have always been professional and caring.
Would and have recommend this surgery.

5My 11 year old cat has had excellent treatment from Brislington surgery, and the Highcroft Whitchurch hospital. Prices seem good (I don’t have insurance) and they’re more likely to find reasons to let you off a charge, than try to get every last penny out of you. I also liked the fact that when my local vet told me the cat needed two teeth out, she quoted a price valid for 2 weeks. Apparently the price would go up after. That suggests to me they are thinking about the pet’s welfare, because it encourages owners to give their pets the treatment they need asap, rather than wait and potentially not bother.

5I was referred to Bristol Highcroft when my cat Penny became unwell. I was met by Owen Davies - Medical Oncologist. I cannot even begin to write how amazing Owen was with Penny, but also with ensuring I understood what was going on and he went an extra mile. Penny had cancer and it had spread so unfortunately after attempts of cemo it was too late and I had to make the tough decision to put her down at my local vets. When Owen found out I received a phone call from Highcroft where he offered me so much support. I felt that he genuinely cared. A couple of days on I received a lovely card in the post from Owen with condolences for my loss and the number for the surgery if I wanted to talk to him or ask any questions. Owen went beyond his duty and I am really grateful for the compassion he showed for Penny and the support he provided me through her treatment and when I had to say goodbye. Thank you so much I can never repay you for what you did for me and Penny.

5I came to this vets as I needed to see an exotic pet specialist and my pet was seen by Sonya.. She was very helpful and provided lots of advice. The consultation was not rushed and she treated my pet. On the two visits my pet has had with Sonya, she was a pleasure to see. She was very enthusiastic about tortoises in general and the reception staff were pleasant too.

5I took my old cocker spaniel dog 14yrs old to be groomed.
Her fur was very long and out of control. I wanted her to be cut very short.
The reception staff were very friendly and helpful as was the young lady that groomed her.
She did an excellent job and my dog certainly seemed to be very happy when I picked her up.
I will certainly be using the service again. Many thanks

5Thomas was diagnosed with an eye condition following a referral from our local vets. Since treatment he has not looked back thanks to Vim becoming a kitten again and his ability to enjoy his garden again. Thank you for all the kindness shown to Thomas from the staff and I would recommend this practise to any of my friends.

5Our much loved 9 year old Cocker, Harry, went in on Saturday lunchtime on a referral from our vet in Bath, when we had no clear idea what was wrong. A poorly dog became critically ill over 24 hours and we were faced by Sunday with a difficult decision, but in the light of clear and empathetically delivered information about possible treatment, outcomes, costs and most importantly what was best for Harry we elected for surgery, which thankfully identified and appears to have rectified the immediate issue. As I write this 24 hours later we are still in the recovery window, but whatever happens I have to commend the care, attention to the needs of Harry and his family and the skill (two anaesthetist nurses and a specialist vet on the phone were needed for the operation) exhibited, as well as the way in which we have been kept involved throughout day and night before and since the operation about Harry’s welfare. Fantastic job, Highcroft.

5It’s not very often that I leave reviews but I have been so impressed by Highcroft vets. I bought a kitten (Max) in August this year and decided to buy Highcrofts ‘Kitten starter pack’ which has been the best value for money. I have visited the Ashton vets twice for Max’s vaccinations and all of the staff are very knowledgeable, friendly and willing to help. I then booked in to have Max neutered at Whitchurch surgery. The procedure was so quick and they phoned me as soon he was in the recovery room to let me know how he was doing! Overall, the service was fantastic and great value for money! So impressed and would definitely recommend! Thank you for your brilliant care.

5The staff at Highcroft Whitchurch are amazing. My cat Rambo ended up in referrals because she had a huge abdominal mass. I was lucky that Rambo was seen by Kerry. Kerry is amazing she’s always really positive trying to find solutions whilst making sure you are aware of what could happen. I felt really comfortable having Rambo treated with Highcroft as every time I saw them with Rambo everyone took amazing care of her and fussed over her. If I hadn’t been seen by Highcroft Rambo wouldn’t be here now and wouldn’t be healthy happy and recovering well. Amazing vets who are so understanding and kind. You do a great job! Rambo and I are very eternally grateful.

5We have used Highcroft since adopting our rescue dog Alfie and have found the staff at Longwell Green, Whitchurch and Eastville to be friendly, professional and helpful. As Alfie has behaviour issues we were a little worried about grooming however, Leo and Isabeau at Eastville were fantastic and nothing was too much trouble. Leo took her time getting to know Alfie with play and lots of cuddles. Isabeau even sent us a photo mid cut to let us know how things were going. We were really pleased with the end result and have no hesitation in recommending Highcroft.

5If I wasn’t already a Highcroft customer I would be now: recently, walking my puppy in the park in Ashton, she hurt her leg and started screaming. This was out of hours, the local clinic was closed. I called the 24 hour centre on Wells Road and told them to expect me, but I had a long carry of the dog to get to my car.
One of the Highcroft vets from the Ashton clinic was off duty, nearby with her family. She came straight over to see what she could do. She took a quick look, very professionally and gently. She checked I had a vet, that I’d made arrangements and that I was ok to carry the dog home. I was very relieved to have had someone to speak to and quickly advise me that I was on the right course of action.
It was a long walk. The direct route home to my car took me past the Ashton Clinic, a good hour and half after closing time, there were two nurses/receptionists behind reception doing some paperwork, they looked up and saw me carrying her. They invited me in concerned, again, more Highcroft staff going out of their way to help, I told them she was booked in already by phone but could they keep hold of her so I could get to the car quicker? They took her in and looked after my very scared and pained girl while i went for the car.
when I returned with the car they carried her straight out and helped her into the car. Again very professionally, very caring and very gently.
On arriving at the wells Road centre I learnt that the original off duty vet had already called them, gone out of her way to brief them with her initial thoughts, views and concerns, this was brilliant service and showed and end-to-end concern for my dog.
in the Wells road hospital they took her in, drugged and x-rayed her, they found and operated on a broken tibia, all with care, professionalism and good attitude, but it is the extra mile taken by the staff who were off duty and offering to help on the way home that showed me the true level of customer service from the HighCroft staff, not just to do their jobs but their genuine concern for their customers and their patients.

5Recently had my young labrador bitch spayed using keyhole surgery. Fantastic care from all, quote included everything including special food for easy digestion. By the next morning she wanted two breakfasts and chased a blackbird and she never looked back! Kept her on lead exercise for 10 days as recommended and she is back to her usual bouncy happy self. Instead of the difficult plastic collar, reception suggested a dog Tshirt (like a babygro) and sold me one cheaper than on the internet. Brilliant success, happy dog and very happy owners. Staff in both Frome and MSN are excellent and extremely helpful - thank you very much.

5If I could give ten stars I would! What a lovely team they have at Longwell Green. I sadly had to put my beloved Guinea pig Nooby to sleep today after battling a URI. Thanks to Amy who gave me a glass of water and some tissues, Natalie who let me sit quietly in another room and gave Nooby oxygen while I waited, the vet (sorry didn’t pick up her name!) who gave him his jabs and Jo who put him to sleep for me. Special thanks also to Rosie who looked after me at the end.
I would also like to thank Lydia ands Kerry for always squeezing me in and the various vets that have looked after my boys over the last year, in particular Sonia and Julie who are amazing for guinea pigs!
Super team, super efficient and super kind. I wouldn’t go anywhere else now. They look after your pet but also look after you as well.

5Must say how lovely an pleasant the staff was. An the reception over the phone. Was worse day of my life to have my 12 year old boy put to sleep. I would highly recommend to anyone. They gave me time to say goodbye to my boy. Even sent me a card few days later with sympathy. Thought that was very kind and considerate of them. And for giving me time to make the payments too. When I was basically told from rspca no money no can see. I’m absolutely disgusted in the attitude I had off them on the phone in my boys hour of need.

5Marit looked after Basil for some years and sadly we had to do the kindest thing for him and let him go. He gave us 18 years of love and companionship. Needless to say he will be greatly missed. Marit did everything for him and her kindness and caring attitude certainly helped me though this sad time. She came to the house so Basil went to sleep peacefully in his own home. I feel now that Marit is a friend as well as our vet as are Joyce and the team at Ashton.
We could never imagine life without a cat. We have now got Tigger who is a rescued cat aged six who has filled the empty gap.

5We are sooooooooo grateful for taking care of our black lab, Gus who came to you with a twisted colon. Your skill, care and speed of diagnosis saved his life. Gus is recovering well and is one happy boy. Your sensitivity during a difficult time was much appreciated and we knew as we left our dog with you, he was in the best hands.
Colonic Torsion is very rare and I hope that by reading this, it will highlight the standard of treatment and care available at Highcroft. Special thanks to Helen and Dan in Critical Care and for the lovely admin staff too.
Thank you in buckets.

5I cant praise and thank everyone at Highcroft vets for their support and dedication in looking after our Staffie, Loco in his last few years.
We sadly had him put to sleep last week, and just wanted to express our deepest gratitude to everyone there who helped look after him though his various illnesses over the years.
Special thanks to Ales Sterritt - who never gave up on him - I know he never really liked his ‘Auntie Alex’, but she will always be remembered by us.
It was a difficult day saying goodbye but the vets that came to the house to put him to sleep were so kind and gentle and Loco passed away peacefully in his sleep as we had always wanted him to do.
Huge thanks to everyone who had looked after him over his 16 years, words can never be enough to thank you all.

5After bringing my kitten, Yuki, home at the age of 8 weeks, I sadly discovered her fur matted with fleas, her gut inundated with worms and her ribs sticking out like coat hangers. What I had taken to be a responsible breeder turned out to be quite the opposite - with poor Yuki bearing the brunt of it. When I took her to Highcroft for the first time, we were greeted by the cheerful Fiona, who treated her and made sure she was OK. She also gave me plenty of fantastic advice for me to utilize as Yuki grew up. Since then, I have seen many of your lovely vets including Jade, Fiona, Andy and another woman whose name I can’t remember (sorry!). Every time they have been amazing and I am so glad to have them on call.
At six months of age, Yuki developed acute haemorrhagic diarrhoea which led to an overnight stay at the animal hospital in Witchurch. Because I have autism and was unable to take her to the hospital myself, the fantastic pet ambulance was there to help me out. During the time she spent in hospital, I was reassured by the wonderful Witchurch staff and kept informed at least twice-daily about her condition. She was kept on fluids and given medication, and though the reasons for her condition remain a mystery, she was returned to me with a clean bill of health and is now a happy, bouncing young cat.
I have since had Yuki spayed by Eastville Clinic’s Andy, and both Yuki and I are looking forward to the day when she will soon be allowed outdoors.
As a person on the autism spectrum, I find it difficult to understand and interpret humans, as a result of which I do not socialize with many people. I am only myself when I am with a cat. Yuki is the greatest friend I could ask for and to have the privilege of offering her such awesome treatment is wonderful - I am eternally grateful to the guys at Highcroft for their 5-star levels of care.
Thank you to everyone at Highcroft who I have met or spoken to so far: Michael, Fiona, Kelly, Jess, Isabeau, Katie, Jade, Andy and anyone else whose name I have forgotten.
Best wishes,
Pixie and Yuki xxx :-)

5on thursday july 2nd, we had to bring GUS our 12 year old lab in to see christian, he had been having trouble with his legs, after which seemed a life time, we had to make the heart breaking decision to have GUS put to sleep. christian was caring and very understanding, GUS loved robert so we asked christian if he would find him, GUS was wagging his tail with excitement, as he loved robert to bits, he wagged his tail to the very end, christain was a gent, and he was so kind, as we found it hard to say goodbye, so from me and my husband, a big thank you

5Archie our 18 month springer had ripped his ear in 2 places and we rang Silva House at 4:55pm. The receptionists suggested we came in for an assessment. We duly shot down to the vets and Archie was examined. It was really busy but we were given time and attention to explain our options and the best course of action. The vet explained that they were very busy and that they would try to operate that night but if it was not going to happen before 9pm it would be delayed until the next day. We had a phone call at 9:15pm to say that they weren’t able to operate that night. Part of his ear was removed the following day.
We have since had to go back a number of times for follow up.
Every person that we have met at Silva House, the vets, the kennel nurse, the receptionists have all been amazing, kind, sympathetic and very helpful at all times, so thank you so much. Best wishes

The staff were ready and waiting for us and from the time we arrived we were treated with dignity and respect. They worked so hard and long to save our Beth, but unfortunately to no avail. My husband and I will never forget what they did for Beth and they way they comforted us. I can only say from the bottom of our hearts thank you

5I have been using Midsomer Norton for the last 15 odd years and always found all the staff absolutely lovely, very welcoming, very attentive etc. I have recently had to go to the Whitchurch branch and have to say that although the nurses and the vet I saw were lovely, very kind, and did not rush my appointment etc, one particular receptionist was extremely rude, completely blanked me on two occasions and went on doing whatever she was doing, the other receptionists were fine. First impressions are extremely important and this receptionist certainly needs a few lessons in welcoming clients, maybe she was having a couple of off days, I do not know, but she certainly shouldn’t let this affect her work.

I am co-founder of a nationwide action group campaigning for veterinary accountability .Thank you Jenny/Fiona/Jodie/Sam what a difference you have made to the practice at Eastville. I think I can safely say Highcroft-‘Highclass’ at affordable prices. I shall certainly be recommending you .I totally agree with the inspector from the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons ‘Highcroft is Exceptional’. Also the fact you can get such good care 24hours-7days a week .

5I have been with Highcroft Vets in Whitchurch for over 5 years. I have a rescue cat, a springer spanial and a Jack Russell x Staffy (which we call a ‘Jaffy’). I have always found the vets, consultants, nurses and reception staff fantastic, they are friendly, approachable, always happy to explain things and never rush you. I recently had my ‘Jaffy’ spayed and feel the care and treatment she received was excellent with most staff on duty that day knowing who my little Jaffy was and giving her attention and fussings as she was very nervous. I shall continue to use Highcroft and feel their facilities are brilliant. Thank You for caring for my ‘family members’ as if they were your own.

5My dog, Jane, came into Highcroft for a CT scan. I was incredibly impressed by the friendly staff and the clear and supportive way in which we were dealt with - Jane was obviously in great hands. It was a stressful day which wasn’t made any easier when I locked my keys and Jane in the car when I came to collect her!! The staff were brilliant and so helpful as I waited the 30 minutes for the the Green Flag man to come and help followed by the hour that it then took to retrieve my keys. Both Kate and Helen were superb at keeping me calm and keeping an eye on Jane in the car and Jodie and Charlotte on reception were fantastic in providing sympathy, tissues and keeping an eye on my bag. It was a truly gold star service and I have nothing but praise and thanks for the team at Highcroft. Truly brilliant. Thank you. And my children were very impressed with the brightly coloured ‘chicken bandage’ that Jane had on her leg too!

5After slamming the phone down on one ignorant vets assistant at a different surgery, the excellent help and assistance I got from Highcroft (Eastville) couldn’t have been in greater contrast. It restored my faith in people who want to do their job properly and at the same time remain courteous. From beginning to end everyone reassured me that my dog would receive the utmost care - and that she did. She was collected from my home by a lovely, friendly driver, who explained everything that would happen. Then she was taken to the surgery to be speyed. Shortly afterwards the vet called to reassure me her op had gone well, gave me fabulous advice and was extremely helpful. After a couple of hours recovery a driver brought her back home again, explained everything again, gave advice on administering medicine and again, really reassured me! If you are looking for a good, friendly, helpful and compassionate surgery to send your beloved pet, I cannot recommend the Highcroft group highly enough. Many thanks to all - particularly Jenny and Sam. I couldn’t have asked for more.

I especially loved that my kitty got picked up and dropped back home when she got spayed. I also get a friendly reminder card each year when she’s due her booster shots. The prices are all explained to you before anything is done so there are no hidden fees. You couldn’t ask for a better service than you get with Highcroft.

5We had been unfortunate enough to go to other vets before we came to highcroft. Our pet rat was suffering from a long term illness that other vets could not diagnose, it took jenny from highcroft less than a minute. And although it wasn’t good news and we later had to put her to sleep everyone who we came into contact with we’re brilliant. The vets and receptionists knew that it wasn’t just our pet that needed care but also ourselves who were very upset as well. Fantastic service, amazing emotional support and I would definitely recommend. Thank you so much.

We were given a talk by a Vet, Physiotherapist and Nutritionist then afterwards given a tour of the Hospital and facilities available at this cutting edge surgery.
It was a very worthwhile evening and we left knowing that our pets are in very safe hands and the presenters were keen to know what else they could do to help us understand and support our pets.

There is a genuine level of interest in your pets health from all the Veterinary Surgeons/Nurses/Admin at Longwell Green and always very friendly. You dont feel like your just ‘another’ customer. To date (6 yrs) I cannot fault this practice, I would recommend it to anyone! I come away feeling confident in what I’ve been advised. Thanks to Joe Tristram (Vet) too who has helped nurse my cat, Maisey (16 yrs old), back to good health over recent months. She is eating well again, back to her normal weight and her normal happy, loving self. Harriet (Kingswood)

5Highcroft vets are the best in the south west, I run a successful pet care company based in Bristol and Bath, so lots of experience with using different vets. Nothing comes close to the care that Highcroft give and the dedicated team are always on hand to help. I have been using Highcroft now for about 8 years and wouldnt trust my own pets and pets that my company look after anywhere else. I always highly recommend Highcroft to new customers and old and to many animal loving friends. Richard and Robert are amazing people and really have that passion for the animals, that passion goes straight through to their team of highly experienced and qualified staff.

5We have found this to be an exemplary practise in all areas. From the moment you walk in, you and your pet are welcomed with a warm hello from the receptionist. The care that our dogs is not only professional as you would expect, but the whole team go that extra mile to make you feel cared for and in safe hands. Ok, we are sadly those people whose dogs are their surrogate children, but the warmth and genuine concern for the dogs has been equally given to us as owners. We have always been reassured to know that we are attending a very cutting edge surgery in terms of knowledge, Specialists and equipment, but recently we have had 2 of our dogs that required surgery and tests, so our contact with the Highcroft team has been significantly increased over the last few weeks giving us an even better understanding of how fabulous they are. We have had amazing communication to let us know what has been happening and the likely outcomes to expect, the support and a shoulder -( literally a shoulder) to cry on when things got worrying, a team that even when they are under pressure takes the time to make you feel valued and cared for.
As I am reading his back to myself, I still can’t find words that do justice to this amazing team of kind professionals each one of them deserves an accolade for their hard work, dedication and exemplary care of all of us.
I can’t imagine A Veterinary practise could be any better! Thanks to all of the lovely team at Highcroft.

5The best vet in the Bristol/Somerset area for reptiles - would recommend anyone with reptiles to check these vets out. They really know their stuff and they are fantastic for any opinions, I consider myself to be an experienced reptile owner, but always value veterinary advice. They also know exactly what they are doing because they have specialists, my girls love the vets here and are quite happy to be checked out. Would take any of my lizards or snakes here.

5We would like to take the time to thank, Robert,Catherine and Lisa. They have helped us to care for Cindy in her last few weeks of her life. She was diagnosed with acute liver disease, and although we gave her our undivided love and attention, we had to make the sad decision to let her go to Rainbow Bridge on Christmas eve. She was a special girl, we loved her to bits, and the care and attention that she was given was second to none, Lisa helped us say goodbye to her, But it was Margaret , the receptionist that gave us comfort, and the support we needed to help say goodbye. We cannot say enough,Margaret and Lesley have been lovely to us, and we would like to take the time to say a bit THANK YOU, to everyone,,,,,,,,,,, Sue and Dave Frankcom…and GUS xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

5Just to say that we had a really poorly dog & we didn’t know what was wrong with her, I rang for an appointment which I had the same day, rushed her up to wells road hospital where the staff was so helpful & kind, straight away they did tests on her to find she only had 10% of her kidneys working! she was born with it. Thank goodness for the modern equipment etc today which Highcroft has. Brilliant vets & sympathetic too! Well done! Will recommend val & mike Bayley

5My special thanks to everyone at High Croft Vets, that is those lovely ladies on reception, nurses and of course the best vets you would wish to meet. My special thanks to Polly Cornwall who recently had the pleasure of attending my lovely Golden Retriever Chloe, and Chas over the years,. But I would just like to personally thank the emergency vet on call at 3am on Friday 13th !!! Dec when I had to rush Chloe into the surgery, for his kindness, and swift action working through out the night, and handing her over to the vets after his night shift. Think his name was Robert! For the morning vets who did all they could for my special baby girl. Sadly with x-rays my beloved Goldie had a bleed on her spleen which we hope she was not in pain for very long that evening, and my decision to “let her go to rainbow bridge” to be with her sole mate Chas who we lost 5th Sept age 13. I would like to thank everyone at this special place to do so much to help and put our pets back to fitness. Sadly for me it was not the case. 40years I have been coming to this branch and moving away to Clevedon did not stop the long treck over each time.. Thank you to Robert also and I think her name was Alex who gave me my saddest news on Friday after attending CHLOE. Too young to leave me at 7 3⁄4 years of age. Watch this space for the New Year - someone will be coming for their first jab which was planned well before loosing my lovely girl. The new addition was to be company for Chloe, who now she will never get to meet. THANK YOU EVERY ONE AT HIGH CROFT VETS.. Merry Christmas to everyone. Best wishes Gina & Bob Bryant. xx

5over the years i have been to highcroft, regularly. I have complete faith in ROBERT and his team, over the years we have been fortunate enough to have seen jules and isobel, also. we have had four dogs that have been treated here, and have found the care fantastic. at present we have a lab, who loves the vets, (NO I MEAN LOVES ….THE VET). he would live there at a drop of a hat, he has had lots of problems over the past 5 years, but has had brilliant care, and also my lovely terrier who is now 13 (and DOESNT WANT TO LIVE HERE),is at present having treatment, I recommend the practice to everyone, oh and not to forget the receptionist, margaret in particular, who have been most kind.
THANK YOU , THANKS YOU, THANK YOU ,best wishes from sue and dave frankcom

5My dog Joe cut himself badly on barbed wire the other evening and I rang the hospital in panic as soon as I realised, expecting it to be closed. They told me to come straight in because the vets were still seeing people and they stitched him up straight away. I was so impressed, the vets and nurses were brilliant, Joe seemed quite happy and had no problems afterwards except being desperate to get off the lead before he was allowed. Can’t thank you all enough, will recommend you all to all my friends.
